RU FULL THROTTLE FOR TEENS [ages 13-17]...
Teens today face a severe amount of peer pressure as well as excessive exposure to addictive substances as early as middle school. According to the latest studies, 72% of high school students admit to having consumed alcohol. Close to 20% of American high school students say they drink and use drugs during class, and some even admitted to buying drugs from classmates. Studies also show that teens whose parents are addicted to drugs or alcohol are especially vulnerable to abuse. According to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, more than 90% of people with a substance problem began smoking, drinking or using other drugs before age 18. Never before has there been such a need for a preventive, pro-active program for teens.
